Fern leaves unfold in layers, moving from deep green into warm gold and muted autumn tones. Their repeating rhythm resembles an ornament shaped entirely by nature — ancient, intricate, and somehow familiar. The idea for this painting began with a photograph Anna took during one of her adventures while travelling through different places and countries. An ordinary fragment of wild nature became a memory of forest paths, old stories, and symbols carried quietly through time. Ancient Green is a reflection on nature’s memory: forms that existed before us, remain beside us today, and will continue long after we are gone.
