Terms of Sale
These are the terms you buy under. They are written plainly on purpose — terms nobody can read are terms nobody agreed to.
Who you are buying from
Sunset Space, 917 Littlerock St, Ottawa, Ontario K1T 0N2, Canada. info@sunsetspace.ca.
Prices and tax
Every price on this site is in Canadian dollars. Sales tax is worked out at checkout from the address you are shipping to, and shown to you before you pay. Shipping is shown before you pay as well. There is nothing added afterwards.
Placing an order
Your order is an offer to buy. It is accepted when we send you the confirmation email, and that is the point at which there is a contract between us.
If something turns out to be priced wrongly, or is no longer available, we will tell you and refund you in full. We will not quietly substitute something else.
Things are made in small numbers
Most pieces here are made by hand, a few at a time. Occasionally the last one sells while your order is being packed. If that happens we will contact you and refund you in full.
Sending things to you
Shipping is quoted at checkout from the real size and weight of what you ordered, and from where it is going. Delivery times are the carrier's, not ours, and we cannot promise a date the carrier has not promised us.
Risk passes to you when the parcel is delivered. If it arrives damaged, tell us within 14 days and we will put it right.
Returns
Return terms are set per item and shown on that item's own page, so you can read them before you buy rather than afterwards. Where a piece does not state its own, the shop's general policy applies and is shown in the same place.
If no policy is shown at all, write to us and we will settle it case by case.
None of this takes away the rights you have under consumer protection law when something arrives damaged, faulty, or not as it was described. Those rights cannot be signed away and we are not trying to.
Workshops and events
Each event states its own cancellation terms on its own page, because a seat held for you is a seat nobody else could take and the fair notice period is not the same for every session.
If we cancel or move a session, you are refunded in full. A ticket admits the number of people it says it does.
Downloads
Once a digital item has been downloaded it cannot be refunded, for the obvious reason. If a file is faulty or will not open, tell us and we will fix it or refund you.
Subscriptions
If you subscribe to a repeating delivery, the price and the interval are shown before you confirm, and they do not change without telling you first. Billing is handled by Stripe.
You can pause, skip a delivery, change the interval or cancel at any time from your account. Cancelling stops the next payment; it does not refund one already taken for a delivery on its way.
What we are responsible for
Getting you what you ordered, in the condition it was described in. If we fail at that, we put it right.
We are not responsible for indirect losses — for example a delayed parcel meaning a gift arrives after a birthday. Nothing here limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.
Which law applies
These terms are governed by the law of Ontario and the federal laws of Canada that apply there.
If you live in another province, this does not take away the protections your own province's consumer law gives you.
If these terms change
The terms that apply to your order are the ones on this page on the day you place it. Changing this page does not change an order already made.
