The idea for this painting began with a photograph Anna took during one of her adventures while travelling through different places and countries. Her attention was drawn to a brief moment of transition — one that could easily be missed without a closer look. The First Turning is a reflection on natural transitions and a reminder that change does not always arrive suddenly. Sometimes, it begins with a single new colour, a small berry, or a different quality of light between the leaves.
