Most of us know tea as something simple — a tea bag, hot water, and a few minutes of waiting. But Japanese tea can be an entirely different experience.
No previous tea knowledge is needed. This is not a formal Japanese tea ceremony, so there is no complicated etiquette to learn. Everything you need for the tasting will be provided — just bring yourself, your curiosity, and perhaps a friend.
During this guided tasting, we will prepare and explore several Japanese teas together and discover how much flavour can come from the same simple ingredients: tea leaves and water. Why can one tea cost $5 for a box while another costs $40–50 for 100 grams? Can you actually taste the difference? We will compare different teas and grades, experiment with brewing, and find out for ourselves. This is not about rules or performing a traditional ceremony. It is about slowing down, tasting something new, sharing a conversation, and discovering a side of tea you may never have experienced before. Come alone or bring a friend — the atmosphere is casual, curious, and social.
